Eligibility

People who work in the nonprofit sector have a lot on their plates, and sometimes there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done.  The Seybert Foundation welcomes applications from eligible nonprofit organizations, but we are mindful of the time and effort it takes to complete a grant proposal.  Please take the time to read and understand our Eligibility Requirements before spending precious time on an application, to ensure that your organization is eligible for Seybert’s funding.  When in doubt, ASK before applying!

KEY ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Mission fit 

Your organization’s primary target population must be  children and youth, and you must provide direct services.

Geographic focus

The majority of your services must be directed to youth in the City of Philadelphia, not the region.

Budget Size

Your organization’s annual operating budget must be less than $1.5 million*

Required Financials

You must have filed at least one 990 with the IRS as a 501 c 3 exempt organization

*Note: in some cases, those programs that are operating under the fiscal sponsorship of an umbrella organization are eligible to apply, regardless of the size of that sponsor’s annual operating budget.  Please contact us in advance of applying if this describes your program, to ensure eligibility. 

Schools Policy: Please note that Seybert Foundation discourages applications from schools. While we fund many organizations that operate programming in schools, we do not currently provide operating support for schools themselves.
